Mammoths were equipped with thick fur and long, curved tusks – adaptations that helped them thrive in the frigid Ice Age environment. Unfortunately, a changing climate and hunting by humans contributed to their extinction. Remarkably, some mammoths have been discovered perfectly preserved in ice, providing us with a fascinating glimpse into the past.
