Did You Know?

Scientists have developed a drone that mimics the flight of a bat. Named Batbot, it is designed to survey disaster zones and areas too dangerous or too small for humans to enter. Like a bat, its wings are jointed. To keep it as light as possible, Batbot’s joints are made from carbon fibre – a material that is both lightweight and incredibly strong.
