Did You Know?

The sailfish is one of the fastest animals in the ocean. It is capable of swimming at speeds of up to 110 kilometres per hour. Special adaptations, such a torpedo-shaped body and a sword-like bill, help it cut through the water with ease. The large fin on its back folds down when it is swimming at speed, further reducing drag. The forked tail of the sailfish provides thrust and allows for powerful, rapid acceleration.
