Clip Description

The Amazon river dolphin (also known as the boto, bufeo, or pink river dolphin) is a rare and beautiful creature. Using sonar and its delicate whiskers, this intelligent mammal can detect fish that hide among the submerged tree roots in the murky forest floodwaters. In local Amazonian folklore, pink river dolphins are often surrounded by myths and legends. Some stories depict them as magical beings, capable of transforming into handsome men.
