Demodex folliculorum  is a microscopic mite that lives exclusively on human skin. These tiny, eight-legged parasites live in the hair follicles and oil glands found on our face, neck and chest. As alarming as this may sound, the mites are generally harmless. In fact, they can even help our skin by removing dead skin cells.
