Morning Starters: Autumn 1 - Epic Journeys

Monday

Did You Know?

The Arctic tern makes an epic journey each year from the Arctic Circle to the Antarctic Circle and back again. It does so to avoid the polar winters, which are too dark and cold for hunting food. This remarkable bird is known for having the longest migration of any animal, covering up to 71,000 kilometres annually. Arctic terns use the Earth’s magnetic field and sun positioning to navigate their way across such vast distances.
