Morning Starters: Summer 1 - Four Seasons
Did You Know?
The seasons occur because Earth’s axis is tilted as it orbits the Sun. During winter in the Northern Hemisphere, this hemisphere is tilted away from the Sun, causing sunlight to hit at a lower angle. As a result, the sunlight is more spread out, leading to cooler temperatures and shorter days. Meanwhile, in the Southern Hemisphere, Earth is tilted toward the Sun, resulting in more direct sunlight, warmer temperatures, and longer summer days.
