Morning Starters: Spring 2 - Electricity

Monday

Did You Know?

Some thunderstorms create dramatic bursts of static electricity in the sky, known as lightning. Incredibly, this same static electricity can help some species of spider travel great distances. After a storm, spiders called ballooners release silk threads that are lifted by electricity into the air, allowing them to float away like tiny parachutes. This fascinating trick helps them find new habitats or escape predators.
