Did You Know?
A tsunami is a giant wave created by underwater earthquakes, landslides or glaciers crashing into the sea. These waves can travel as fast as a jet plane and reach heights of over 100 feet! Tsunamis can cause disastrous flooding, wiping out towns and claiming countless lives. To reduce harm, scientists have developed tsunami warning systems, giving coastal communities the opportunity to evacuate before disaster strikes.
