Chocolate is made from cocoa beans. Two countries in West Africa, Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana, produce more than half the world’s cocoa. Within these countries, many children work on cocoa farms, often under difficult conditions. This has led to worldwide discussions about fair trade and finding solutions to protect children and paying farmers fairly for their hard work.
