High in the Bolivian Andes, 3,500 miles above sea level, lies the Salar de Uyuni, the world’s largest salt flat. Once an ancient lake, it is now a dazzling, white desert of salt crystals. Although its environment is hostile, it’s breathtakingly beautiful. When rainwater floods the flats, the surface reflects the sky like a giant mirror, creating a scene so stunning it seems otherworldly.
