Morning Starters: Autumn 2 - Strange but True
Did You Know?
Over Lake Malawi, a peaceful, sunny day can swiftly transform into an extraordinary spectacle. Towering tornadoes of minuscule insects, called midges, spiral upward from the lake’s surface. These delicate creatures gather in enormous swarms for their maiden flight, creating dense clouds that hum with life. The swarms can grow so thick and overwhelming that people passing through them have occasionally found it difficult to breathe!
