Morning Starters: Autumn 1 - Plant Parts

Tuesday

Did You Know?

Plants need to be pollinated for new seeds to develop. Many plants have colourful, sweet-smelling flowers that attract pollinating creatures like bees and butterflies. In Costa Rica, the fascinating seven-hour flower opens only at night. It does so in order to attract bats. While enjoying a feast of nectar, the bats carry pollen from flower to flower, helping the plant’s goal of growing new seeds.
