  • Look closely at your table of answers. Do you notice anything interesting about the numbers of elephants and the numbers of storks?
  • This investigation could be made more challenging by adding another animal to the waterhole and/or changing the total number of legs that the wonky camera photographed.

e.g. A wonky camera took a photograph that captured a total of 24 legs. The legs belonged to a mixture of four-legged elephants, two-legged yellow-billed storks and six-legged African butterflies.

How many elephants, storks and butterflies might there have been at the waterhole?
