  • Look closely at your table of answers. Do you notice anything interesting about the numbers of 7-spot and 4-spot ladybirds?
  • Professor Greenfingers had a mixture of 4-spot, 7-spot and 14-spot ladybirds on his parsley plant. If he counted 39 ladybird spots in total, how many ladybirds of each type were on the plant? (There is more than one answer.)
  • Are the following statements always true, sometimes true or never true? How do you know?

If you add two even numbers together, you always get an even number.

If you add two odd numbers together, you always get an even number.

If you add an odd number to an even number, you always get an odd number.
