Further Challenges

  • If you laid out all the worms that a robin eats in one day, end to end, how far might they stretch? How do you know?
  • We have learnt that an adult robin weighs just 18 g. By contrast, an adult common mole weighs considerably more at around 90 g. Can you find one object in your classroom that has a similar weight to an adult robin and one object that has a similar weight to an adult mole? Can you find three objects in your classroom that together have a similar weight to an adult robin and an adult mole combined?
