Clip Description
All living things respire. For most animals, this means taking in oxygen from the air. Oxygen is the fuel of life. Without it, muscles and organs would not work. Oxygen gets to where it is needed through an animal’s bloodstream, and it is pumped around the body by an animal’s heart.
In this fascinating clip, we see how the lungs and heart of a boy called Jamie work hard after he has been running around and kicking a ball. What do you think is meant by the words ‘lung capacity’? Watch the clip to find out.
Quick Whiteboard Challenge
