Clip Description
Fossils are the remains of plants or animals that lived a long time ago. They give scientists clues about life in prehistoric times, long before humans roamed the planet.
In this fascinating clip, Sir David Attenborough shares his excitement at discovering fossils in a disused quarry, close to where he grew up as a young boy. Included in Sir David’s fossil collection is a 400 million year-old trilobite. For more than 250 million years, our ancient seas were full of trilobites. Some were monster-sized, while others were no larger than a flea. Most crawled along the sea floor in search of food. Which other fossils will we see in Sir David’s collection?
