Measurement (length): Giraffe Heights
The Problem
In Kenya’s Masai Mara, 8 giraffes were busily munching on the leaves of some thorny acacia trees. You can see a photograph of these lofty herbivores opposite and each giraffe’s name.
Using the clue cards below, can you order the giraffes by height in either ascending or descending order?

Did you know?
Standing at around 1.8 m and weighing up to 70 kg, a newborn giraffe is anything but small! Remarkably, a newborn giraffe can stand, walk and even run within an hour of being born.
Visualising the Problem and Getting Started
Max said, “To order the giraffes, I will need to start by looking at the card that shows Gerald’s height.” Do you agree with Max? Why/why not?
