Tarpons are large tropical fish. There are two species – one which is native to the Atlantic and the other to the Indo-Pacific Oceans. Fossil research shows they have been swimming in our oceans since prehistoric times and each fish can live over fifty years.
In this fascinating clip, deep in a coral cave, two-metre-long tarpons hunt huge shoals of silversides.
