Clip Description

Sally Lightfoot crabs are brightly-coloured coastal scavengers, found in the Galapagos Islands and across the western coast of South and Central America. They are named after the Caribbean dancer, Sally Lightfoot, due to their incredible agility.They are able to jump from rock to rock with ease, climb vertical slopes and even skitter across water.

In this fascinating clip, one particular crab must escape the powerful, lunging jaws of a moray eel. This snake-like fish, with the ability to slither overland, finally settles in a rock pool. Here it waits – readying itself to ambush the unsuspecting Lightfoot. Will dinner be served? Watch the clip to find out.
