The whale shark is a slow-moving, filter-feeding fish. This colossal animal is the largest fish known to humankind. Amazingly, it can reach lengths of up to 40m or more! This impressive fish’s favourite meal is plankton. Opening its massive jaw, it filters tiny plants and animals from the water. Whale sharks are found in the open waters of the tropical oceans, where there is plenty of food.
