Clip Description
Draco lizards are found in the jungles of Southeast Asia. The name ‘Draco’ originates from the word ‘dragon.’ Just like its namesake, this tiny reptile can fly! This is due to the folds of skin between its ribs. When it’s time to make a hasty retreat or avoid predators lurking on the ground, the flying dragon can move from tree to tree by gliding through the air.
In this fascinating clip, we meet a pair of male Draco lizards who don’t like to share. We see how they prepare to battle over the ownership of a tree. The fight starts with some intimidating showmanship and ends up with one of the lizards being chased to a dead end. Will he turn around and fight or will he take flight?
