Clip Description

The rusty-spotted cat is the smallest wild cat in the world. A fully-grown adult is two times smaller than a domestic cat! These nocturnal felines spend most of their day sleeping inside hollow logs or amongst dense vegetation. They have soft, short grey fur with rusty-coloured spots over their backs (which is where they get their name from). Found only in Sri Lanka and India, there are less than 10,000 rusty-spotted cats left in the wild.

In this fascinating clip, we will see how a male rusty-spotted cat uses his super senses to daringly explore his Sri Lankan home, and we learn that his large eyes are six times more powerful than a human’s. Will his curiosity get the better of him? Watch the clip to find out.
