Clip Description

The Arctic fox is an incredible mammal which has adapted so that it can live in the extreme cold of the Arctic Circle, where it often reaches temperatures of -50°C. These adaptations include furry soles, short ears and a short muzzle, all of which help to keep their bodies warm. For additional warmth, a resting Arctic fox will wrap its long brush-like tail around its body like a scarf.

In this fascinating clip, we meet the Arctic foxes who are further adapting to the cold by seeking out human towns to scavenge food left behind by people. This isn’t as safe as it sounds as they are in danger from the public, machinery and even its own cousin, the red fox. Will the Arctic Fox featured get food and survive the experience? Watch the clip to find out.
