Clip Description

The harvest mouse is the smallest species of rodent in Europe. Many are found in the UK. It lives in grasslands, meadows, hedgerows and agricultural fields. They are very small mammals with an adult usually weighing as little as 4 grams.

In this fascinating clip, a harvest mouse has to use all of her skills to climb to the top of the grassland forest where she knows food is plentiful. The stems just won’t stay still! Her efforts look as if they will be rewarded when she reaches the flower heads, but who is hiding around the corner? Watch the clip to find out.
