Clip Description

Found mainly in Brazil, the name of the giant cat – the jaguar – comes from a local word which means ‘he who kills with one leap.’ This is because they have the most powerful bite of all the large cats. Including their tails, they can measure over two metres in length and are the third biggest cat in the world after the lion and the tiger.

In this fascinating clip, we meet a pioneering team in Brazil which is trying to find out more about the secretive jaguars and their lives. The team must protect them from people’s destruction of the forests and get closer to them than anyone before. Will they be able to achieve this in time? Watch the clip to find out.
