Proofreading: emu
Writing Ideas
- Write an imaginary conversation between the emus when they are exploring the shack. Try to use your speech punctuation accurately. Don’t forget to proofread your work.
- Can you write a detailed description about the common emu? You could describe what it looks like, how it moves, what it sounds like or even where it lives. You could use your senses to add extra details. Can you challenge yourself to include an expanded noun phrase?
- Read David Stanley’s fabulous poem When Emus Dream. Imagine that you are an emu who spends much of the day dreaming of flying. Write about this dream. Did it involve lots of failed attempts and crash landings?
