Clip Description
The dipper is a short-tailed, plump bird. It has a brilliant white breast, which contrasts with its dark brown body. They are famous for their ability to swim and catch food underwater. They can be identified by the unique way they sing, while bobbing up and down on the rocks that poke out of rivers.
In this fascinating clip, we see a pair of dippers preparing for the arrival of their young. We also get to see their impressive diving skills as they search for food. While the female prepares herself for two weeks of egg sitting, it is the male who collects materials for their home. Can you guess where they have chosen to build their nest?
