• Read nine-year-old Bryn Patel Stephens’ wonderful poem, The Seahorses. Copy your favourite line and explain why you liked it so much.
• The largest threat to seahorses is humans. Pollution of the oceans destroys the habitats and food supply of many seahorse species. Furthermore, seahorses have been overfished, especially in Asia, for use in cooking and as an ingredient in medicines. Write a letter in support of a worldwide ban on seahorse fishing, explaining why it is so important to protect these unique creatures.
