Clip Description
Prairie dogs aren’t dogs! They are rodents that belong to the same family as hamsters, guinea pigs and squirrels. They are found on the grasslands (prairies) of North America. They live underground in networks of burrows called prairie towns.
In this fascinating clip, prairie dogs can be seen feeding in the open air. They need to be careful, as many dangers lurk in their neighbourhood. When a fearsome American badger approaches, a burrowing owl comes to the aid of the prairie dogs. What will the owl do to see off the beastly badger? Watch the clip to find out.
