‘Money spider’ is the name given to around 250 tiny spider species that can be found in the UK. The name ‘money spider’ comes from a belief that if one should land on you, you will be blessed with good luck and fortune! Elsewhere in the world they are called sheet weavers. This is because they spin flat, sheet-like silk webs.
